GARDEN CENTRE RESTAURANT REOPENS AFTER MAJOR FIRE

Following a major fire, Digby’s restaurant in Alton Garden Centre has reopened

Following a major fire, Digby’s restaurant in Alton Garden Centre has reopened. The plan was to close for a month, however the restaurant reopened just days after the fire broke out.

“Digby's Restaurant will be reopening, serving a limited menu of hot drinks and light snacks,” says Mr Bunker, managing director of Digby’s.

The fire spread into the storage area above the restaurant, with over 40 firefighters on the scene. The garden centre remained fully operational, with a quick turnaround for the restaurant to resume business.

The fire “could have been a lot worse,” adds Mr Bunker as the restaurant prepared for the new year.
