H2O Publishing, which publishes Garden Centre Catering, hosted its fourth Foodservice Football fixture recently, at the oldest club in London, Cray Wanderers FC in Chislehurst. The match has been held annually since 2023 in memory of our much-missed friend and colleague Morag Wilson, with the proceeds – an impressive figure of over £2,500 – going to Cancer Research UK.
The game saw 30 players, plus a referee, from across foodservice and hospitality being managed by Dan Hillman, of H2O Publishing, and Marc Sumner, ex-H2O staff and now at Hupfer UK. The hard-fought friendly, which was played in temperatures hitting the mid-20s, finished in a 4-2 win for Sumner’s side.
'A great way to remember Morag'
Hillman, who also organised the event, said: “Thank you so much to everyone who came along and either played or supported, helping us to raise over £2,500 for Cancer Research UK. It is an incredible charity that we are extremely proud to support.
“It was great to see the industry coming together to do some good and have fun at the same time. What a great way to remember Morag, who is much missed by all of us here at H2O, and I’m sure, everyone who knew her across the industry. We look forward to doing it again next summer.”
